Pierce drive stormwater improvements opinion of probable construction Costs: base bid - $602,000.00 alternate - $109,000.00 Completion Date: MAY 15, 2026 A. This project consists of improvements to the storm sewer system along Pierce Drive and Flagler Lane. This project includes a Base Bid with one (1) Alternate. The bid documents contain bid forms, a base bid and one (1) alternate. The bidder may bid on the base only, or both. Only one option will ultimately be selected. 1. Base Bid: Full Storm Sewer Replacement. This work will generally consist of, but not be limited to the following: a. Field location of an existing buried sanitary manhole located in the eastern shoulder of Hopkins Road. Hopkins Road is a Mahoning County roadway, and the structure will need to be located to confirm the alignment of the existing storm sewer at the western extents of work, along with having the existing manhole's casting reset and adjusted to grade per all Mahoning County standards. b. Removal and replacement of the existing 24" and 15" storm sewers and catch basin inletstructures along Pierce Drive per plan extents. A new manhole shall be installed near the Hopkins Road shoulder on west extents of the project limits to connect to the existing storm sewer present, upstream of the County owned and operated manhole (described in previous bullet). c. Removal and replacement of approximately 160-LF of existing 12" and 6" storm sewers on the eastern side of Flagler Lane to tie into the Pierce Drive intersection storm sewer and replace all with 12" HDPE pipe and new catch basin structures. d. Connect existing curb downspout laterals on the southern side of Pierce Drive into the new storm sewer. e. Reconnection of any existing drains and otherstorm piping that is disturbed or encountered within the existing system that is not currently shown. f. Restoration of landscaping, pavement, etc. impacted by the improvements. 2. Alternate: Cured-in-Place-Pipe (CIPP) Lining in lieu of sewer replacement over approximately 550-LF of existing sewer on Pierce Drive as depicted in the plans. This work will generally consist of, but not be limited to, the following: a. Heavy cleaning approximately 550-LF of 15" storm sewer on Pierce Drive to the extents detailed in plan. b. Various structural based improvements to the existing storm sewer including, but not limited to, packer grout joint injections to stabilize or fill voids around the pipe. c. CIPP lining the 550-LF of 15" sewer as detailed in plans on Pierce Drive. d. Reinstating any existing connections of storm pipe that is disturbed by the CIPP Lining. e. Restoration of landscaping, pavement, etc. impacted by the improvements. f. If the Alternate is awarded, then Ref No. 1l in the Base Bid shall be deleted.
