The Contractor is to provide for the Removal and Replacement of Courtyard Doors at the Anaheim Convention Center. Question Deadline 07/18/2025 at 2:00 PM PT All questions regarding this IFB must be submitted via electronically. The City reserves the right to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid or proposal, provided such waiver does not result in a material deviation from the requirements of the bid or proposal. The City, at its sole discretion, may accept a bid that contains minor defects or discrepancies as long as such defects or discrepancies do not affect the fairness, competitiveness, or outcome of the bid process. Any bid with minor noncompliance or errors may be corrected and considered for evaluation, unless such correction would alter the intended outcome of the bid or give the bidder an unfair advantage. The City of Anaheim is comprised of 13 departments and over 3,200 employees throughout the City. The City's core businesses are public safety, public utilities, public works, housing and community development, community services, and economic development. The Contractor is to provide for the Removal and Replacement of Courtyard Doors at the Anaheim Convention Center per the specifications attached hereto. General a. Note that per the Business and Professions Code ss. 7059: "In no case shall the...[Contractor] whose classification constitutes less than a majority of the project [perform the project unless]...the performance of the work in the crafts or trades, other than in which [Contractor] is licensed, is incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the [Contractor] is licensed....All work to be performed outside of [Contractor's] license specialty, except work authorized by [the aforementioned], shall be performed by a licensed subcontractor..." b. Perform all work in accordance with the latest editions or addenda of the applicable codes, standards and specifications. c. Contractor must provide everything necessary at contractor's expense including, but not limited to all labor, prep work, materials, supplies, parts, tools, equipment, and the like required to perform and complete the required work. d. All work must be done per these specifications, according to all applicable and acceptable industry standards, of the highest quality workmanship commensurate with the required work and completed by the time required. e. Ensure that all work is done only by experienced and professional personnel. f. Ensure that all work properly and neatly fits the adjacent existing materials. g. Perform work according to any applicable manufacturer's specifications. h. Remove and properly dispose of any to-be-replaced materials. i. Provide the City Project Manager (CPM), all documentation, altered diagrams, updated or new manuals, and the like within 7 calendar days after the job is completed. Scope of Work Requirements: Bid Specific a. The work required under this Contract is governed by the California Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors State License Board (CSLB), and any changes made by CSLB automatically apply to the classifications listed. The applicable license classification is C-17 - Glazing Contractor, which includes selecting, cutting, assembling, and/or installing all types of glass, mirrored glass, and substitutes, as well as fabricating and glazing frames, panels, sashes, and doors. b. The majority of work must be performed by the awarded Contractor at the time the work is requested. c. Contractor's technicians shall be AAADM (American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers) certified to perform repairs and maintenance on automatic sliding and swing doors. d. Subcontracting is not permitted unless the subcontractor is listed on the Subcontractor List or has been pre-approved by the City Project Manager (CPM) in advance. e. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to remove and replace courtyard doors located in the AB and BC Courtyards of Halls A, B, and C at the Anaheim Convention Center. Work includes replacement of single and double doors with transom glass, installation of hardware including Von Duprin panic devices, Schlage mortise locks, Rixson floor closers, and Pemko Markar continuous hinges. Certain doors will require mullions, and components shall be drilled and tapped as specified. f. Contractor is responsible for: i. Field verifying all dimensions and conditions prior to fabrication or installation. ii. Ensuring compatibility and proper alignment of all new doors and hardware. iii. Coordinating any required site protection and debris removal. iv. Completing work in a manner that minimizes disruption to occupied areas and public access. v. Required hardware and detailed specifications by location are listed in section XIV. Required Hardware and Locations.
