Separate sealed bids for the Sidewalk Replacement Project consisting of five (5) areas of work which generally include: mobilization, erosion control, traffic control, removal and replacement of curb, gutter and sidewalk, minor asphalt and concrete pavement restoration, and other associated work. Submit all questions about the Drawings or Specifications to the ENGINEER in writing no later than five (5) days prior to the time set for receipt of BIDS. Corrections or clarifications shall be made by Addendum. Oral clarifications will not be binding. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Town of Hugo (Owner) negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with the Bid. Attention is called to the fact that the funding for this project has requirements that include, but are not limited to the Contractor must ensure that employees and applications for employment are not discriminated against by their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Bidders shall thoroughly review these requirements and comply with same if awarded the project. Attention is also called to the fact that this project is subject to Section 436 of P.L. 113-76, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014 wherein all iron and steel products provided on this project must be produced in the United States. Appropriate documentation must be provided to validate that this requirement is satisfied. Forty dollars ($40.00) of each such deposit will be refunded if the hard copy of the Drawings and Contract Documents are returned in good condition within ten (10) days after Bid opening. Digital copies may be purchased for one hundred dollars ($100.00) with no refund available.
