Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Davenport, Iowa. Completed plans call for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
As of August 6, 2025, project was awarded to Langman Construction, Inc., awarded amount is $599,189.58. This project is for two alleys, as indicated in the plans. Alley 1 is located between E 9th St. and E 10th St. from College Ave. to Mississippi Blvd. Alley 2 is located between Kirkwood Blvd and E 15th St. from Arlington Ave. to Bridge Ave. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the furnishing of all labor for the removal of the PCC and HMA roadway pavement for the length of the project, full depth aggregate stone base material, geo fabric / grid materials if needed, reconstruction of the roadway with a PCC alley approaches and HMA pavement, reset all existing utility surface features to finish grade, replacement of the adjacent driveway approaches, reconstruction of sidewalk at the intersections including ADA ramp construction, topsoil and sodding, and erosion control. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - It is expected that the site will be available by August 1, 2025. The Engineer will inform the Contractor of any delay and if possible, the duration of the delay. The Contractor may commence work, weather and specifications permitting, any time after execution of the contract, after receipt of the Notice to Proceed, and on or after the approximate start date provided the site is available. The Contractor shall complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment for the bid within 35 Working Days. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $1000.00 per day The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so.
