The Bethany Park Drainage Project consists in the installation of an in-line detention system to manage the storm water during heavy rainfall at the Bethany Park subdivision in the City of Palacios Texas. The project will also include the installation of a concrete channel lining, culverts, trench drain, storm pipes inlets and manholes. In addition, the project also includes the removal and replacement of the existing pavement to integrate the new proposed drainage system. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $50,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Palacios, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Estimate: 1.1 Million The project to be constructed will be financed with assistance from the General Land Office (GLO) under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant - Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) program and is subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing Davis-Bacon and Related Acts wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
