East Iberville HS Baseball/Softball Complex The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following (but not limited to): 1. New Artificial Turf 2. Sports Equipment 3. New metal buildings 4. New Paving 5. New grading 6. New batting cages 7. New scoreboards 8. Chain link Fencing It shall be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to verify measurements of the installation areas as well as to provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools expertise, and supervision necessary for the complete installation of a vertical-to-horizontally draining synthetic turf system. Project work is defined by the Contract Documents (i.e. construction drawings and specifications) and consists of, but is not limited to, the following items: The project consists of converting the existing natural turf within the limits of the East High School baseball and softball perimeter fences including underground drainage, structural base, shock pad, synthetic turf with associated infill turf. The new 6", 8" and 12" perforated, corrugated, double-wall HDPE pipes in stone filled trench are to be installed next to the inside of the baseball and softball perimeter fences. 1. Locate and secure clearance for all project specific utilities. It is solely the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to repair damaged utilities. 2. The elevations for the athletic fields are shown on the attached drawings. The grading plan accompanying these drawings shall be followed to ensure positive drainage flow. The CONTRACTOR shall bear the responsibility of verifying these elevations. 3. All surveying for field placement and layout is the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. 4. CONTRACTOR shall remove vegetative layer, remove and dispose of any other material deemed undesirable. (i.e. existing natural grass on playing field will be removed by the CONTRACTOR.) CONTRACTOR shall remove all other material deemed undesirable as per construction drawings and specifications. 5. Excavate to depth required to accommodate required cross-section, slope and finished grades. 6. Prior to installing specified structural base, contour, slope, rough grade, and compact sub-base, within limits of field inside the track oval, to specified grades, as per construction drawings and specifications. 7. Install a 3.5 inch thick poured in place concrete structural base with a minimum 3,000 psi concrete with keyway expansions joints spaced at 15 feet on center in one direction and saw cuts in the perpendicular direction at 10 feet on center; OR ALTERNATIVELY install a poured in place structural base with minimum 3,000 psi concrete poured into a minimum 40 millimeter deep structural grid as detailed in performance criteria below. 8. Install a perimeter turf anchoring encompassing the perimeter of areas to receive synthetic turfing with pressure treated nailer approved for ground contact, to match finish grade of concrete base. Pressure treated nailer to be attached to poured in place concrete support member as detailed in construction drawings. 9. Home plate to be installed and anchored into the base of the field. 10. Install pitcher's mound in accordance to standard high school dimension of 60' 6" from the front of the rubber to the back tip of home plate 11. Install the perimeter collector trenches and tie in as shown on the construction drawings. 12. Furnish and install a shock pad/drainage blanket system that meets the performance requirements of the preapproved products detailed below. 13. Install nonfill synthetic turf system, tufted to a maximum 1.25-inch height, having 100% polyethylene fibers with a dimensionally stable primary backing that meets the performance requirement as detailed herein this bid package. 14. Install all tufted and inlaid lines and markings as shown in the construction drawings. 15. Install GeoCool Natural Cooling Additive, Envirofill, or other approved equal. Infuse infill mixture into artificial turf in multiple applications. 16. Clean site per owner's instructions and dispose of any unwanted materials. 17. Repair any damage to areas, including parking lots, staging areas, outfield grass or utility lines, or other that may have occurred and restore site to pre-project condition.
