A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Hudson River Drainage Chamber Rehabilitation - Electrical If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Vanessa Soto via the Discussion Forum tab in PassPort o Site Access: o Barge access via the Hudson River o Safe and secure pedestrian access to the HRDC from the Breakneck Ridge Trailhead as directed by the DEP o Temporary Site Setup: o Field Trailer o Security fencing on jersey barriers o Sedimentation and Erosion control o Exclusion fencing for animals o Architectural and structural rehabilitation of the HRDC superstructure (door, roof, exterior cleaning/graffiti removal building masonry and brick, South Wing Wall, and interior chambers) o Improvement to drainage system (manholes - rock drains and French drain at South Wing Wall) o Provide temporary power for construction activities o Removal and replacement of existing blow-off valves inside HRDC: o Two 40" Blow Off Valves; (1) Bronze and (1) Cast Iron, with hydraulic actuator. o Two 12" Gate Valves; (1) Bronze and (1) Cast Iron, with hydraulic actuator. o Blow-off valves inside HRDC will be comprised of: o 40" Knife Gate and an 800mm Plunger Valve in series in the '40" line'; and o 12" Knife Gate and a 250mm Plunger valve in series in the '12" line' o New local control panels for blowoff valves o New instrumentation and controls of blow-off valves on main building level o Remove existing gate valve and fitting in Cap Chamber o Install new air relief valve on existing shaft cap, during the unwatering period of the Catskill Aqueduct o Clean existing pressure relief drains in the HRDC main building, cap chamber and valve chamber o Clean by rodding and/or water jetting o If directed by the Engineer, install new drainage system along South and East wall of the HRDC o Drill vertical into rock, install piping to collect water to mitigate water intrusion o Access to the underground chambers o Valve Chamber includes ships ladders, grating platforms at 3 levels, safety railing and safety gates, and pole ladder o Cap Chamber includes stairs, grating at 2 levels, and safety railings o Temporary Sheet Pile Cofferdam to support sediment removal and concrete repairs of the waterways system o Concrete rehabilitation of the stilling chamber and waterway system o Moodna access road o New gate at road entrance o Improve Moodna access road, widen and new drainage swale o New culverts in three locations o Temporarily unwater HRDC shaft and Moodna Shaft during CA shutdowns for HRDC Valve Replacement o Infiltration test. o Temporarily unwatering system to lower water level in the Moodna Access Shaft during CA shutdowns o Moodna water levels to be lowered in parallel with HRDC water levels o Temporary storage tank on site to hold refill water o Small pH treatment system to balance water pumped from Moodna shaft o Site improvement, level to install temporary unwatering system o Concrete crack repairs within Moodna Access Shaft o Temporarily unwatering system to lower water level in the Moodna Access Shaft during CA shutdowns o Section view of temporary piping and pumps to be installed in Moodna Access Shaft for unwatering o May need to increase the opening of shaft cap to handle larger diameter piping and pumps due to infiltration encountered in the shaft o Final Site Restoration of HRDC o Permanent Black Metal fence o New driveway with concrete pavers o Sliding vehicular gate o Crash gate o Stone perimeter o Vehicular access connection to a planned bridge over the Metro North train tracks north of the HRDC site o 480V DEP Transformer o 25 KVA 277/480 Portable Generator o HRDC Grounding o Core penetration through stone masonry wall Please be advised that the Question Deadline has been extended to July 14, 2025, close of business.
