Below is a general scope of work. Bidders are required to view the job site. 1. Asphaltic concrete shall be placed only when the surface is dry and above 50 degrees F. 2. No placement is to take place during rain 3. Traffic shall be kept off the pavement until it is sufficiently cured. 4. The wearing course shall be thoroughly compact, smooth and true to grade and crosssection. It shall be free of ruts, humps, depressions or irregularities. 5. A tack coat shall be applied at a rate of 0.05 t0 0.10 gallons per square yard. 6. Placement temperature of the delivered product shall not fall below 275 degrees F. 7. Compaction of the mixture shall begin as soon as the surface will bear the roller without undue displacement. 8. Clean up of the jobsite must occur before final acceptance of the work. Dirt, spoil, and debris of any nature must be removed and the street-scape shall present a clean, workmanlike appearance. Any damage to residents' property shall be corrected. 9. Village of Beallsville Street Paving Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in an amount of 10% of the bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the aforesaid Monroe County Commissioners or by certified check, cashier s check, or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount in favor of the aforesaid Monroe County Commissioners. A combination bid/performance/payment bond (contract bond) for 100% of the bid amount is acceptable and must conform to Ohio Revised Code Section 153.57. Attention of bidders is called to all the requirements contained in the bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Revision, Davis-Bacon Act, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond for 100% of the contract price. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Monroe County Commissioners reserve the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.
