furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and any other miscellaneous items necessary for paving Melville Brown Road in Pike County. All Roads listed shall receive 2" of 19mm binder and 1 1/2 inches of 12.5 mm topping. Melville Brown Road (from Williamson Zebulon Road to Chappel Hill Rd- approximately 1.44 miles) *SPECIAL BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS * o All bids shall be in a single separate sealed envelope from all other documents - All work shall be completed within 120 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. Before starting the work, the Contractor shall give the County or municipality a written schedule regarding the sequence/order of the work. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid shall be required. In lieu of a bid bond, a cashier's check, cash or an irrevocable letter of credit may be accepted. Proof of workers compensation and liability insurance will be required with Pike County A bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of the time during which bids may be submitted without prejudice to the bidder, by submitting a written request of withdrawal to the Purchasing Department. Any questions should be emailed to cgoodman@pikecoga.gov The Board of Commissioners may reject any or all bids and must reject a bid from any party who has been delinquent or unfaithful in any formal contract with the Board of Commissioners. Also, the right is reserved to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding procedure. The Board of Commissioners shall be the sole judge as to which proposal is best, and, in ascertaining this, will take into consideration the business integrity, financial resources, facilities for performing the work and experience in similar operations of the various bidders. ** bid date info :Each envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as 2025 Melville Brown Road Pike County paving project. If the bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of Pike County Board of Commissioners paving project. Cost proposals should be in a separate sealed envelope so that all documents presented to the Board of Commissioners can be reviewed prior to the cost proposal's opening.
