Sprinkler System and Radon Mitigation System Installations in Existing Building at Out of the Cold Centre County, Inc., 318 South Atherton St., State College, PA The project is funded through the Community Development Block Grant Program and is subject to all related federal regulations. Federal prevailing wages established under the Davis-Bacon Act will apply to this contract. All contractors and sub-contractors working on this project will be required to comply with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act No. 222 and PA Steel Products Procurement Act. MBE (5%), WBE (3%) a) Upgrade existing sprinkler service (currently a 2-inch NFPA 13R backflow and wet-pipe riser system) to new 4-inch NFPA 13 system. Including but not limited to; new backflow preventer, riser assemblies, fire department connection, zones valves, etc. as required to meet NFPA 13 requirements for building spaces indicated on Drawing SP1. b) The intent is to sprinkler all remaining, currently no sprinkler, areas of the building on the Lower Level, First Floor, Second Floor and all Attic Space. c) It is anticipated that a dry-pipe system will be required for the attic spaces. d) The branching piping serving the existing R1 Sleeping Areas can remain, but will need to be re-fed from the new NFPA 13 service (relaces existing NFPA 13R service). e) The attic area above the Sleeping Areas will require a new dry-pipe sprinkler (currently no sprinkler). f) Exposed piping and/or heads are acceptable in all spaces. g) Include fire alarm system scope required for new monitoring points (tamper switches, flow switches and/or pressure switches). h) Include power required for new dry-system air compressor. i) Design and install two radon mitigation systems. j) Include all survey, drafting, calculations, shop drawing submittal and permitting fees required for project.
