This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Los Altos Hills, California. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
Reference Number 0000390642 Purchase Type: Duration: 4 years Option: 1-year term with option to renew for an additional 3 years The District seeks qualified firms to evaluate potentially historic properties within Midpen's jurisdiction. For the purposes of this RFQP, historic properties include buildings, structures, objects, sites, districts, and landscapes that are not associated with Native American or archaeological resources. A full list of requested services is provided in the RFQP document. The District intends to enter into one or more on-call contract(s) with selected firms or individuals to provide on-call services for an initial contract term of one (1) year with the option for the District in its sole discretion to renew the contract each fiscal year for up to three (3) additional years. The value of work under any given contract is not expected to exceed $52,000 per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30 annually). In addition, firms and individuals responding to this RFQP may be pre-qualified to provide professional services for projects offered outside of the on-call process for up to four (4) years. The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is pleased to announce the issuance of this Request for Proposals and Qualifications (RFPQ) for professional on-call consulting services to evaluate potentially historic properties within Midpen's jurisdiction. For the purposes of this RFPQ, historic properties include buildings, structures, objects, sites, districts, and landscapes that are not associated with Native American or archaeological resources. Services that address other types of cultural resources - such as paleontological, prehistoric, archaeological, or tribal cultural resources - are not included in this request Through decades of property acquisition, Midpen owns hundreds of structures, including houses, barns, outbuildings, sheds, lean-tos, communication towers, stables, wineries, butler buildings, corrals, carports, garages, and agricultural accessory structures (e.g. fencing, water tanks, corrals, spring boxes, etc.). Dozens of these structures exhibit historic qualities due to age or association with former land uses. Future Midpen actions that may affect these structures would require informal assessments or formal Historic Resource Evaluations to determine eligibility for listing on federal, state, or local historic inventories, and evaluate potential impacts to eligible resources from a proposed action. Midpen would use such assessments to inform disposition decisions, support California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review, and obtain permits from local municipalities. Midpen does not have an agency-wide historic context statement and evaluates individual properties on a project-by-project basis. Furthermore, Midpen does not employ in-house staff historians or architectural historians, and thus relies on consultants to conduct technical research, evaluation, and documentation for potential historic properties.
