Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in San Carlos, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The scope of work generally includes mobilization, traffic control, water pollution control, dust prevention and control, site cleanup, asphalt concrete grinding/removal, asphalt concrete installation, asphalt concrete base repair, ADA ramp construction, utility cover lowering & restoring to grade, loop detector replacement, striping removal & replacement, inlet and pipe installation, and all other work as shown on the Plans and as called for in the Technical Provisions and as directed by the Engineer. Bids must be accompanied by a Proposal guarantee amounting to ten (10%) percent of the bid as described in the specifications. Said guarantee shall be forfeited to the City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him/her (1) enter into a contract with the City and (2) furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in the specifications. Bids are required for the entire work described herein in accordance with the instructions to bidders. The Engineers Estimate (including Base, Alternate A, Alternate B, and Alternate C) is between $6,000,000 and $7,000,000. A Class A, Contractor s License is required for this work. Work will be done and payments will be made in accordance with provisions more particularly described in the plans and specifications The City Council reserves the privilege of rejecting any and all proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposals or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his/her proposal for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for opening of proposals. As a "Public Works" project and pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for San Mateo County shall apply to this contract, as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Bidders are directed to the Instructions for Bidders for additional contract requirements. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. All work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of ONE HUNDRED (100) Working Days from the date of receipt of the "Notice to Proceed". If Alternate A is awarded 5 working days will be added to the contract. If Alternate B is awarded 5 working days will be added to the contract. If Alternate C is awarded 10 working days will be added to the contract.
