The proposed project consists of a comprehensive capacity expansion to the existing water treatment facility from 2.0 million gallons per day (MGD) to 3.25 MGD. The scope of work includes upgrades to the raw water intake pumps, conversion of the existing gravity filters to ceramic membrane filtration skids, facility wide piping and pumping improvements for increased hydraulic capacity, and pipe gallery upgrades to account for the filtration conversion. In addition, the existing backwash system will be completely replaced with a new system that includes a dedicated pump incorporated into the new piping system. The project will include all necessary temporary pumping and piping systems to maintain operations of the existing water plant throughout the project duration. The expanded capacity will improve the facility's ability to meet current and future water demand, ensuring a more reliable and resilient drinking water supply for the Gatlinburg community. Questions will not be accepted by the Engineer later than seven (7) days prior to the RFQ submittal due date. If a Proposer discovers any ambiguity, conflict, discrepancy, omission, or other error in the RFQ or any document attached to, incorporated into or referenced by the RFQ, they shall notify LDA Engineering of such error in writing and request modification or clarification of the document as outlined above no later than five (5) days prior to the RFQ submittal due date.
