The City of Larned is seeking qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for repairs and restoration at the Larned Community Center, 1501 Toles. The scope of work will encompass all necessary repairs resulting from damage caused by an automobile hitting the building. The City is seeking bids on behalf of the Insurance company. 1. Bidders must be licensed with the City of Larned. 2. Bid must include an estimated completion date. 3. Materials must match existing exterior wall. 4. Bidder must follow the engineer s recommendations Description and Observations: o The structure of the Larned Community Center is a 100' x 250' preengineered metal building (PEMB) with cold-formed stud walls and brick veneer up to 12'-0". Wall girts and metal panel siding complete the wall framing up to the eave. o The vehicle collision impacted the west wall between frame lines 6 & 7 near the door opening. o The cold-formed studs can be seen shifted from their original location. o Brick veneer debris can be seen at the point of impact. o No damage was observed to the wall girts or building frames. o No damage was observed to the roof framing. Structural Recommendations & Evaluations: o Remove interior and exterior finishes to determine the extent of the damage to the cold-formed stud wall. Replace all displaced or damaged studs with like-kind. o Remove all loose or displaced masonry material until sound material is located and replace it with like-kind. o Verify the condition of the door frame and brick lintel. A new frame and lintel may be required. o Verify the condition of the existing foundation. Remove all loose material and patch if damage is found. o Verify the condition of the building frames and wall girts above the stud wall for any damage. Contact EOR for repair details if necessary.
