Question Deadline 07/11/2025 Questions received less than four (4) working days before the bid opening cannot be answered. The work to be performed consists of selective demolition and replacement of exterior concrete ramps, stairs, sidewalks and railings. Masonry maintenance including selective replacement, repointing and sealant installation on exterior surfaces and repointing and painting of interior brick. Install new steel coping over existing limestone parapet cap and repair minor stucco at roof level. Selective replacement of missing asphalt shingles. Preparation and repainting of exterior steel tube railings. Repair and repainting of interior drywall and surrounding surfaces. Removal and restacking and reinforcing of existing retaining wall using existing segmental retaining wall materials. Sitework including drain tile installation and basic landscape restoration (mulch finish with some seed/sod). The date for Award of Contracts for construction is anticipated on Monday, July 21st,2025, with the Notice to Proceed being issued no later than August 4th, 2025. The contractor will have full access to the site during the project. The owner will maintain continuous occupancy and operation of adjacent spaces and the remainder of the facility and phased construction may be required to maintain egress during construction. No date is set for substantial completion but a Fall 2025 completion is highly desired. Bid Security shall be made payable to the Muscatine County Iowa, in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the Base Bid sum. Security shall be CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK CASHIERS CHECK or AIA A310 BID BOND issued by the Surety licensed to conduct business in the state in which the Project is being constructed. The Owner reserves the right to approve the sufficiency of the required bid security. The Bid Security is to be submitted and attached to the BID FORM at the time of submission of Bids.
