Renovation of a conference / convention center in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.
The MTCC is seeking to retain the Services of a qualified Service Provider to replace the dock levelers in the east loading dock and the south loading dock of the MTCC. Site visit description: A Proponent must provide vendor name and representative's full name in the Notice. Only two representative from each Proponent will be allowed to attend the mandatory site meeting. Proponents who fail to provide the Notice before 2:00 pm local time, July 6, 2025 will not be allowed to attend the mandatory site meeting. Proponents who do not attend the scheduled mandatory site visit will be disqualified. Deadline for Questions July 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Documents can be obtained from http://liveconstructconnect.s3-website.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com/#Metro%20Toronto%20Convention%20Centre_25-076P/ The Supplier/Service Provider should not communicate with MTCC staff in a way to obtain pricing information of a competitor so to gain an advantage in a procurement process. The Supplier/Service Provider must not offer monetary gifts to any of MTCC employees, which could influence their judgment or performance of their duties in procurement. Please note those incidental gifts that are a common expression of courtesy such as flower/gift basket, souvenir or memorabilia types items or gifts that are within normal standards and would not compromise MTCC are acceptable. MTCC shall have the right to terminate a contract or choose to cease business relationship with a supplier/service provider when a supplier fails to disclose any conflict of interest in connection with the goods or service being provided. The successful Proponent will be contractually required to provide the following Services to MTCC: 3.4.1 Timelines Installation will be completed in phases over a one-year period. The approximate timelines are listed below: a) Phase 1: South Loading Dock - 13 Dock Levelers o Completed by September 30, 2025 b) Phase 2: East Loading Dock - 5 Dock Levelers o Completed by January 31, 2026 Dates will depend on events at the MTCC and the loading dock availability, schedules to be provided in advance. Phase 2 will only be completed depending on the remaining budget after Phase 1. 3.4.2 Deliverables: a) Phase 1: South Loading Dock o Remove and dispose of thirteen (13) existing dock levelers in the south loading dock. o Supply and install thirteen (13) Metro Dock 45,000 lbs dock levelers in the south loading dock. b) Phase 2: East Loading Dock o Remove and dispose of five (5) existing dock levelers in the east loading dock. o Supply and install five (5) Metro Dock 45,000 lbs dock levelers in the south loading dock. c) All Phases o Disposal should take place off property and follow environmental standards o Prep existing openings for installation. o Ensure all installations adhere to relevant code specifications. o Must provide five (5) year structural steel warranty for the base frame, main steel deck and steel hinged lip. o Must provide five (5) year hydraulic warranty for powerpack and hydraulic cylinders. o Equipment must be installed by qualified/certified installer. o Dock levelers must be produced in Canada. o All work to be completed during regular business hours. d) MTCC Provided Services: o In-house electricians will connect all necessary electrical connections. o MTCC to provide forklift for installations. 3.4.3 Equipment Specifications: Metro Dock Hydraulic Leveler o Capacity: 45,000 LBS o Deck beams: o 6' @ 9 lbs per ft. wide flange structural steel main beams (six on 6' & 6-1/2' w & eight on 7'w) o Two 3/16" wedge plate;12" to 7" o Deck plate: 1/4" thick hi-tensile hrs steel checker plate o Front plate: 1/2" x6' Hrs o Lip hinge: 2-1/4" OD x 1-1/4"ID seamless steel tube; minimum yield 75,000 PSI and tensile strength of 85,000 PSI o Lip hinge rod: 1-1/8" dia. Steel rod (Minimum yield 44,000 PSI material.) o Lip length (STD.): 16" (Gives 10" projection beyond normally mounted 4" bumper.) o Lip: 5/8" Thick steel checker plate (minimum yield 50,000 PSI.) o Frame: o Structural steel angle with rear reinforcing gussets. o Reinforced lift cylinder pivot points o Rear support: 3/4" x5' structural steel flat bar with six 1" hinge supports and three 3' structural steel channels to bottom of frame. o Rear hinge fall safe restraint points: Six supports on 6' & 6'6" wide docks. Eight supports on 7' wide docks. o Pit: Standard pit dimensions o Maintenance strut: Hinged on frame with lip support o Practical working range: Above and below range is 1" per foot of nominal length. o Power pack: o Standard - 1HP /115/1ph/60 hz o Optional - 3 PH / 60 HZ o Lip cylinder: One 1-1/2' diameter hydraulic cylinder. o Lift cylinder: One 2' diameter solid rod hydraulic cylinder (ground and chromed steel rod. Minimum 90,000 PSI yield strength with an ultimate strength of 113,000 PSI) o Hydraulic safety stop: Velocity fuse mounted on lift cylinder.
