Renovation of a fire / police facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Time for Completion: 80 Working Days. Boilers and pumps shall be fully operational no later than December 1, 2025 (Substantial Completion). Liquidated Damages, per diem: $405.00. The residency requirement for this project is 0% of all hours worked on the project. One quarter of these hours must be attributable to residents living in the following zip codes: 53204, 53205, 53206, 53208, 53210, 53215, and 53233. The SBE requirement for this project is 5% of the contract base bid. The SBE Compliance Plan (Form A) must be submitted with the bid and is an element of bid responsiveness. SBE certificates must be submitted with the Form A. Incomplete SBE Compliance Plans (Form A) or inaccurate SBE Compliance Plans will not be accepted and will render the bid unresponsive. The apprenticeship requirements for this project are: N/A. If this contract is awarded at $500,000 or higher, 25% of all apprentice labor hours must be worked by apprentices certified for participation in the Residents Preference Program and 40% of all apprentice labor hours must be attributed to apprentices. The contractor shall specifically note the SBE, residency, and apprenticeship forms for this project. If the forms are not filled out properly, it will be cause for rejection of the bid. Bidder participation is urged to become familiar with all aspects of the project and bidding requirements. All questions should be submitted in writing prior to 12:00 PM on Monday, July 28, 2025 to dpitts@milwaukee.gov. No questions may be answered after that date and time. No questions shall be answered verbally. No verbal information from any source is to be relied upon by any respondent in the development of their Bid. Written questions and responses will be documented by way of addenda, which will be forwarded to all bidders. Bid Security Required: Bond, Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Cash to accompany bid: 10% of the Contractor's Base Bid. For those bids being submitted through Online. and using a manual Bond, the contractor may send a signed/executed copy of the bid bond to the Department of Public Works Contract Office by emailing DPWbids@milwaukee.gov. THE EMAILED COPY OF THE BOND MUST BE RECEIVED BY NO LATER THAN 10:30 A.M. ON THE SAME DATE THAT THE BIDS ARE DUE FOR THAT SPECIFIC OFFICIAL NOTICE, or the bid will be considered non-responsive. The original bid bond document must then be submitted by the contractor to the Department of Public Works Contract Office in-person or by mail to 841 N Broadway, Rm. 506, Milwaukee, WI 53202, within 24 hours upon being notified that they are the apparent low bidder. A. Work illustrated in documents applies to the Boiler Replacement at Milwaukee Police Department District 3 & Communications Operation Center, 2333 N 49th Street Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53210. B. Base Bid: The existing boiler plant will be replaced entirely with three new boilers and new accessories. All heating plant equipment shall be replaced including but not limited to pumps, expansion tank, , manual chemical feed, and piping. Secondary pumps to be designed with 100% redundancy. C. SBE requirement is applicable to the Base Bid only. D. It is understood that the submittal of a proposal shall include furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary for completion of the work required, including that which may not be directly shown on the drawings or in the specifications, but are necessary for proper operation and approval. E. The above outline is intended to serve as a general guide only, and not as a complete listing of work, operations, or materials. Consult the Table of Contents for a complete listing of items included. A. Provide all supporting devices as required for the installation of mechanical equipment and materials. All supports and installation procedures are to conform to the latest requirements of the ANSI Code for pressure piping. B. Do not hang any mechanical item directly from a metal deck or run piping so it rests on the bottom chord of any truss or joist. C. Support apparatus and material under all conditions of operation, variations in installed and operating weight of equipment and piping, to prevent excess stress, and allow for proper expansion and contraction. D. Protect insulation at all hanger points; see Related Work above.
