The WORK covered in the Contract Documents generally includes reconstruction of: Nowell Avenue (from Cordova Street to approximately 125 feet northwest of Sitka Street). The WORK generally consists of: Replacement of underground water transmission and distribution pipe networks with new 10" and 14" HDPE pipe, water services of various types and sizes, and fire hydrants. WORK will include installation of temporary water systems to maintain service to affected residents and the adjacent pump station; Replacement of the existing sanitary sewer systems with new manholes, 8" PVC sewer pipe, and 6" and 8" services with cleanouts, New underground storm drain system consisting of 12" and 18" CPP, as well as underdrains. Excavation, grading and shaping of basecourse material, asphalt pavement, concrete curb & gutter, concrete valley gutters, guardrail, and miscellaneous other improvements necessary for a complete project. Deadline for Bidder Questions: 4:30pm Alaska Time on November 24, 2025. Completion of Work. The Work Must Be Completed Within 60 (Sixty) Days After Commencement of Construction or No Later Than September 15, 2026. Engineer's Estimate Range: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Bid Security Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond, in the amount of 5% percent of the Bid, payable to the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, as a guarantee that the Bidder, if its Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. A Bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of Bidder's security is provided as prescribed in Section 00100, Article 12, at the time of bid. Contractor's License. All contractors are required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License, prior to submitting a Bid, and a current Alaska Business License prior to award. Bid to Remain Open. The Bidder shall guarantee the Bid for a period of 120 Days from the date of Bid opening. Any component of the Bid including additive alternates may be awarded anytime during the 120 Days. Owner's Rights Reserved. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality in a Bid, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as it may best serve the interests of the OWNER.
