The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) - Docks & Harbors is requesting proposals from qualified geotechnical drillers to characterize the subsurface soils to depths of 100 feet below mudline. The Contractor is to provide geotechnical drilling and sampling equipment for 6 test borings extending 100 feet below the mudline in 150 feet of water in Auke Bay, Alaska. It is the responsibility of the Proposer to submit all solicitation documents, by the advertised deadline. Submitting any response to a solicitation shall be solely at the Proposers risk. CBJ will attempt to keep all office equipment used in methods of document receipt, in working order but is NOT responsible for communications or documents that are late, regardless of cause. No Proposer documentation will be accepted as proof of receipt. Prior to any deadline, Proposers are strongly encouraged to confirm receipt of any submitted documents with Docks & Harbors. All electronic submittals must be uploaded as an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Proposers will not secure, password protect or lock uploaded files; the City must be able to open and view the contents of the file. Proposers will not disable or restrict the ability of the City to print the contents of an uploaded file. Scanned documents or images must be of sufficient quality, no less than 150 dpi, to allow for reading or interpreting the words, drawings, images or sketches. The City may disqualify any Submittal Response that does not meet the criteria stated in this paragraph. QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS RFP: Carl Uchytil, Purchasing Officer, phone 907-586-0294, fax 907-586-0295, Carl.Uchytil@juneau.gov is the sole point of contact for all issues pertaining to this procurement. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District (USACE-AD) is conducting a geotechnical site investigation in Auke Bay in Juneau, Alaska. This task order is to provide drilling services, sampling equipment, and a vessel of opportunity. The investigations will consist of drilling and sampling. Ultimately, the geotechnical data obtained will be used to create a geotechnical data report. To perform the planned investigation, USACE-AD needs to obtain geotechnical drilling and sampling services. USACE-AD will provide an engineer to log soil boreholes and collect soil samples. The location of the test borings is still to be decided by USACE-AD. A boring location map will be provided no later than 30 days prior to the Contractor mobilizing to the project site. - Mobilization/demobilization of drill rig, drill equipment, supplies, and personnel - 100-foot Borehole with Split Barrel Sampling and Backfill - Vessel of Opportunity and Support Vessels Additive Items - l-Hour Stand-Down due to Adverse Weather - 1 -Hour Stand-Down due to Marine Mammal Monitoring
