Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 35,000-square-foot clubhouse / community center.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of either a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond drawn to the order of the Township for not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid, but not in excess of Twenty Thousand ($20,000) Dollars. Question Submission Deadline:July 11, 2025, 4:00pm Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-22, the successful contractor shall furnish the Township with a 100% (Contract amount) Performance Bond and 100% (Contract amount) Labor and Material Payment Bond issued by the Contractor's insurance carrier / surety, for the purpose of guaranteeing the faithful fulfillment of the Agreement. This bond shall meet the requirements of N.J.S.A. 2A: 44-143 through 147, entitled "Bonds of Contractors on Public Works and Improvements." The successful respondent shall be required to comply with the provisions of the New Jersey prevailing Wage Act, P.L. 1963, c 150 (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. ) and those new requirements promulgated by the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage & Hour Compliance pursuant to P.L. 1999, c 238, "The Public Works Registration Act." In compliance with "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act," bidders shall be required to submit evidence of contractor registration at the time of bid for the contractor and any named subcontractors. In accordance with P.L. 2021, c.301 a contractor submitting the lowest bid for a Contract, if that bid is 10% percent or more lower than the next lowest bid, shall certify to the public body that the prevailing wage rates required by the Act shall be paid. The successful respondent shall be required to comply with antidiscrimination provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:2.1 et seq. During the performance of this contract the Contractor shall comply with the requirements of PL 1975 c. 127. (N.J.A.C. 17:27) and N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., addressing Affirmative Action Against Discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity. The contractor shall also comply requirements of the State of New Jersey Worker Health and Safety Act (N.J.A.C. 12:110 et seq.) as amended and the United States Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) (29 CFR 1910), as amended with regard to worker and jobsite safety. All Bidders are expected to comply with all provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq.) and all regulations promulgated in connection therewith by the Division of Local Government Services and not just those statutory or administrative provisions which are referenced in the Notice to Bidders, Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2, and to waive any informalities in the best interest of the Township. The Township of North Brunswick is soliciting bids to build out a Resiliency Center in an existing but unfinished wing in the Municipal Complex. The Administration and Police areas are newly renovated and the next step is to retrofit an existing space (1st floor and basement) to function as a communal gathering space and Resiliency Center in the event of a natural disaster or other emergency. Question Submission Deadline: July 11, 2025, 4:00pm Questions may be submitted via the "Question & Answer" option on the Township's Open Gov Bid Portal. The Project consists of Alterations and related work for a Resiliency Center at the Municipal Building for the Township of North Brunswick. The alterations are located on the 1st floor of the Administration wing and administration side of the basement. Work will be performed while the building is partially occupied. The Township will utilize the Police Department / Public Safety Wing, the center wing 1st floor Council & Court Chambers and Clerk's Offices, and 2nd & 3rd Floor Departments of the Administration Wing. 1. Public will require access into and out of the building during the full duration of the project. Contractor to provide and coordinate with owner; safety plans for all occupants and the visiting public. Contractor to provide secure and safe access to and from building during the work day. 2. All Scope of Work items are by Contractor unless expressly called out to be by Owner or others. 3. Time is of the Essence The complete demolition of areas within the building for the purposes of constructing a resilience hall, food pantry/kitchen, multi-purpose rooms, toilet rooms, changing rooms and related storage rooms; and all related site work, utility work, foundations for premanufactured canopies, delegated design services for foundations for premanufactured canopy systems and selective steel reinforcement, installation and erection of premanufactured canopy systems, covered entrances to the Resiliency Center, and related hardscaped patio. The Work includes all five primes, (general construction, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical), as well as fire alarm/fire protection. The Work includes cleaning and or repairing any existing substrates scheduled to remain and found to be damaged and/or deteriorated, as well as any and all preparation work required to satisfy the conditions required by the specified manufacturers prior to commencing installation of all final work. a. Kitchen Equipment, except kitchen hood, by Owner. Contractor is responsible for schedule coordination, associated rough-in work and coordination, final electrical & plumbing connections. b. Interior Signage by Owner. c. Decorative Landscaping by Owner. Site restoration in affected works areas is by Contractor.
