The project generally consists of the rehabilitation and replacement of the Schmidt Lane Pump Station Force Main located in Sabella Park. The proposed improvements include the cured-in-place lining of approximately 200 LF of existing 14" ductile iron pipe (D.I.P) force main and the replacement of approximately 765 LF of force main with new 14" D.I.P Class 52 force main. The project also includes test pits, excavation of sending and receiving pits, backfill, restoration, appurtenances, and all other work in accordance with the Contract Documents. Additional work may be ordered, if deemed necessary by the Township Mayor and Township Council. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Contract Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid security in the form of a certified or cashier's check or Bid bond in an amount of not less than ten percent, (10%) of the Bid amount, but not in excess of $20,000, payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the Bidder, Bidder will within ten (10) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish the performance and payment bond required by the Bid Documents. Upon failure to do so Bidder shall forfeit the Bid security as liquidated damages. The bid security must be delivered in a sealed envelope bearing the title of the work and the name of the bidder to the Township Offices prior to the time of bid opening. A copy of the Bid Security check or bid bond shall be included in the submission through the electronic procurement platform. Each Bid must also be accompanied by a certificate of consent of surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey and named in the current list of Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds, U.S. Treasury Department, guaranteeing that if the proposal of the Bidder be accepted the surety will furnish the bond(s) required by the Bid Documents. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof.
