Renovation of a mixed-use development in Telegraph Creek, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project consists of an envelope upgrade to the six existing teacherages. The envelope upgrade will improve energy efficiency & comfort, minimise maintenance. The existing roofing will remain, with additional blown insulation added to reduce heat loss & ice formation. The exterior walls will receive 5/8” DenGlass for fire resistance, air barrier, 3” continuous exterior insulation and Hardie panel. All the windows, doors, and sliding glass doors will be replaced with high efficiency units. The exterior lights and receptacles will be replaced. The exterior decks and patios will be removed & re-installed, and stained. The crawlspace skirting will be insulated with 4” continuous insulation, and new HVAC take-offs will be added to ventilate the crawlspace. The floor rim joist will be insulated (+ DensGlass for a thermal barrier) at the exterior door & sliding door.
