Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Owner has determined that the project is a prevailing wage project and that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute this contract shall be paid. Each bidder must be licensed as required by law at the time the bid is submitted. The contractor license classification required for this project is General Contractor B. No Contractor or subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, or awarded a contract subject to the requirements of 4104 of the Public Contract Code, for a public works project unless currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5. All work must be completed within forty-seven (47) consecutive calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner. Time is of the essence. Failure to complete the work within the time set forth herein will result in the imposition of liquidated damages for each day of delay, in the amount set forth in the Information for Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any minor irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding process.
