Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The project consists of a reconstruction of an existing park including removal of existing pathways, trees, lawn, topsoil, lighting; invasive species management, and tree pruning; construction of new concrete, porous asphalt surfacing, granite paving and permeable pavers; installation of new curbing, and accessible ramps, railing; installation of new site furnishings including bike racks, game tables, signage, drinking fountain and lighting; installation of an irrigation system, bioretention basin, planting, reinforced lawn, sodding and seeding. The work is to be accomplished within 103 calendar days of a notice to proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of$1,000.00 per day will be assessed if the work has not been completed in accordance with the provisions of the contract within the time specified (as extended by any authorized extension of time granted in accordance with the contract provisions). Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation (MassDOT) Highway Division in Recreation Facilities to bid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not pre-qualified by MassDOT prior to the opening of Proposals. The Proposed contract includes a requirement of 6% for MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) 10% for WBE (Women Business Enterprise) and 3% VOBE requirement (Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise). Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit, in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier';s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Department of Conservation and Recreation in the amount of 5% of the bid.
