The principal items of work are approximate as follows: 4,450 Tons of Bituminous Concrete Paving, 22,200 Square Yards of Asphalt Milling, and related items. The entire project shall be completed in 60 calendar days. To be eligible for consideration, bids must be submitted on complete original proposals made available by the owner. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to the City of Prattville, Alabama, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany each of the bidder's separate sealed proposal. Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14) days after notice of award of Contract to them. The successful bidder will be required to submit 100% performance bond and a 50% payment bond. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama to act as surety. Contractors are required to apply for all permits (City of Prattville local permit fees will be waived). Each bidder must be licensed as a Contractor in the State of Alabama in accordance with provisions of Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, and must submit with this bid satisfactory evidence of such license.
