Site work and paving for a road / highway in Owensboro, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The bid item for concrete alley pavement shall include all labor and materials to remove and dispose of the existing concrete and subbase and construct new stone base and concrete alley pavement. The new concrete alley pavement section shall consist of compacted subgrade, compacted 2 inch thick Dense Grade Aggregate (DGA), and 8 inch thick Class AA 4000 psi concrete. Membrane curing compound shall be applied to all new concrete. Existing concrete that abuts the alley shall be saw cut and removed at locations determined in the field to allow for concrete forms. After the alley pavement is constructed, the abutting concrete shall be replaced with same section as the alley. Quantities for concrete alley pavement have been estimated based on removal of 2-4 ft beyond the existing alley slab limit. Actual quantities will be field measured. All work shall be in compliance with the Public Improvement Specifications. The City of Owensboro (City) is seeking a Contractor to provide all labor, material, supervision, equipment, construction staking, and incidentals necessary to reconstruct a concrete alley as directed by the City Engineer. When the term "City Engineer" is used in these documents, it is implied to mean the City Engineer and/or his representatives.
