Renovation of an educational facility in Owensboro, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
1) The project consists of roof replacement of one (1) building at OCTC. i) Downtown Campus Building (Owensboro, KY) 2) Roof Replacements: a) Tear off existing roof membrane, sheet metal, metal counter flashings, and roof components as indicated. b) Attach nailed base sheet c) Install 2-layers of 2.2" isocyanate insulation. 1. 1st layer adhered with insulation adhesive. 2. 2nd layer staggered and adhered with insulation adhesive. d) Install 1-layer of 1/2 " coverboard in insulation adhesive, stagger laps e) Install 2-ply SBS-modified bituminous membrane roofing (base & cap cold applied) f) Install new foil faced flashings at walls and curbs g) Install 24-gauge pre-finished sheet metal: coping caps, drip edge, expansion joints, counterflashing, gutters & downspouts h) Also included is a new roof hatch & interior protection 1. Roofing System Descriptions: a. Downtown Campus Building b. Existing tectum deck with slope in deck. c. Existing roof system to be removed down to existing roof deck. d. Repair existing tectum deck as required prior to installing new roof system. e. Mechanically attach nailed base sheet to tectum deck, as per manufacturers latest recommendations. f. Install 2-layers of 2.2 inch Polyisocyanurate Insulation adhesive, as per manufacturers latest recommendations. Stagger thermal joints. g. Install 1/2-inch gypsum panel cover board in insulation adhesive, as per manufacturers latest recommendations. h. Install 1/4" to 1/2" per foot crickets, where required, in insulation adhesive, as per manufacturers latest recommendations. See drawings for locations. i. SBS Roofing System. j. Install 2-ply SBS-Modified Bituminous Membrane system and base flashing system in cold adhesive, as per manufacturers latest recommendations. k. Prime all flanges of sheet metal component prior to installation. l. Install roof drain inserts at all locations. m. On cap sheet, hold back cold adhesive 2" from side and end laps and heat weld side and end laps and roll laps with 1/4 " bleed out. INSTALLATION OF ROOFING, GENERAL A. Install roofing system according to roofing system manufacturer's written instructions, FM Approvals' RoofNav listed roof assembly requirements, and FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheet 1-29. B. Complete terminations and base flashings, and provide temporary seals to prevent water from entering completed sections of roofing system at the end of the workday or when rain is forecast. 1. Remove and discard temporary seals before beginning work on adjoining roofing. C. Install roof membrane and auxiliary materials to tie in to existing roofing to maintain weathertightness of transition and to not void warranty for existing roofing system. Job No- 25-768-31
