CSULB Research Foundation RFP for Utah FORGE Project. The Department of Earth Science & CSULBRF intends to identify and contract with a single pumping services provider who can supply the necessary equipment, personnel, and expertise to successfully carry out the injection test. The selected contractor will be responsible for mobilization, operation, and demobilization of pumping equipment, and for working in coordination with the Utah FORGE project team to ensure the test is conducted safely and effectively. The injection test will be conducted between an injection well and a production well at the Utah FORGE site (designated wells 16A(78)-32 and 16B(78)-32). Previous reservoir stimulation has created a fracture network connecting these wells in a deep granitic formation. During the test, water will be injected into 16A(78)-32, travel through the engineered fracture network, and be produced back to the surface via 16B(78)-32. The produced hot water will be cooled and re-circulated, enabling continuous operation. This test will last about seven days. The recirculation test will be followed by a 3 day stand by period, and then a second single well test. In the single well tests, conducted in 16B(78)-32, water will be injected and allowed to flow back under the increased reservoir pressure following recirculation. This RFP outlines the requirements for the pumping system and services to perform this circulation test.
