CSULBRF intends to identify and contract with a single chemical services provider who can supply the necessary equipment, personnel, and expertise to successfully carry out the injection test. The Department of Earth Science CSULB intends to identify and contract with a single chemical services provider who can supply the necessary equipment, personnel, and expertise to successfully carry out the injection test. The selected contractor will be responsible for mobilization, operation, and demobilization of chemical handling and pumping equipment, and for working in coordination with the Utah FORGE project team to ensure the test is conducted safely and effectively. Utah FORGE is a dedicated underground geothermal field laboratory for developing, testing and accelerating breakthroughs in Engineered Geothermal System (EGS) technologies to advance the development of geothermal resources (see Attachment A for location and directions). The goal of this project is to interconnect two highly deviated (65 from vertical) wells to enable the circulation of fluids to harness the Earth's heat. Connectivity between these two deviated wells is created with multiple hydraulically opened or sheared natural fractures and/or initiation and propagation of new hydraulic fractures.
