Site work and paving for a road / highway in McClusky, North Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The project aims to improve recreational opportunities and enhance visitor experience at Hoffer Lake Park by paving and widening 1.06 miles of 7th Street NE, starting from 5th Avenue NE (CMC 4211) to the main park entrance and continuing through the park to the west end at an unmarked road intersection, assumed to be 4th Avenue. The work will be advertised as Schedule A, covering the stretch from 5th Avenue NE westward through the park, ending at the north part of the curve where future camping expansion is planned. The scope includes reducing the design speed limit to 25 MPH within the park to allow for a 0-foot clear zone, setting the pavement section width to 24 feet (11-foot lanes with 1-foot shoulders), adjusting grading to fit primarily on the existing road bench to minimize material import and wetland impacts, and removing reconditioning due to the project being classified as 4R with earthwork. Principal work items include 6,000 cubic yards of roadway excavation, 3,952 cubic yards of waste, 6,000 tons of aggregate base, 3,500 tons of asphalt concrete pavement (Type 1), 8 miles of solid Type B pavement markings, and lump sum temporary traffic control.
