The contractor shall displace all snow and ice from the town-owned roads, parking lots, and walkways and steps. Snow displacement operation shall commence once accumulation is approximately one (1) inch. Services shall continue through the duration of the snow or ice event. At which time final clean up shall be completed. The contractor shall be responsible for the application of salt to all areas to be displaced of snow. The contractor shall also be responsible for follow-up salt application to all areas necessary in the days following the snow or ice occurrence as well as hazard areas. Application of De-Icing material to be applied when rain is falling on surfaces that will be subjected to temperatures falling below 32 degrees Fahrenheit or in the form of sleet, freezing rain and/or light snow/rain mix greater than 1/10 of One Inch. Road Salt may be used to De-Ice all Black Top surfaces including parking lots, entrances to the property etc. The Maintenance areas are as follows: Chase Rd and Aspen Hill Rd to the Newton turnaround, South Rd to the E. Kingston turnaround, Stagecoach Rd to dead end turnaround, Hilldale Rd to Currier St turn around at Cemetery, Lone goose Rd to Newton turnaround, Whitehall Rd from MA. Line to Jewel St intersection, Whitehall Rd west to MA Stateline at campground. Woodman to Highland Rd to Kensington turnaround, Highland Rd to Evans Rd to Locust St.to town line turnaround. Snow Displacement including Snow Shoveling at 3 Hilldale Ave, Parking lot area, walkways leading to buildings as well as walkway from Hilldale Ave to crosswalk on Main Ave for school, and all doors including the library and library ramp. This also includes keeping snow and snow piles away from the Oil Delivery Nozzle. Snow Displacement including Snow Shoveling at 128 Main Ave. Snow to be removed from in front of building (2) engine bay doors and 2 side entry doors. Back of the building to access rear stairs and Quonset hut for police vehicle storage. Also remove snow from the front of cardboard dumpsters. Comprehensive General Liability in an amount not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in aggregate for injury or death Property Damage Insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000 for any occurrence Automobile Liability in an amount not less than $1,000,000 for any occurrence Workers Compensation and Employee Liability As required by law. A majority vote by the Board for the lowest responsible bidder at the August 11 meeting will determine the successful bid. The Board will award the contract in accordance with the majority vote and notify the winning contractor. The bidding session will be terminated in the event that none of the bids meet the specifications stated herein or in the event that no bids meet the majority satisfaction of the Selectboard. In this event, the Selectboard will decide on the future action to be taken in this matter.
