The City is seeking to prequalify HVAC contractors with extensive experience in HVAC installations in Data Centers. The project consists of removal of 6 existing CRUs and replacing them with 4 larger capacity CRUs, the project also includes furnishing and installing a new dedicated chiller unit to serve the Data Center. It is essential that the HVAC contractor be experienced in data center cooling system installation projects. It is also required to have the HVAC contractor to work in collaboration with electrical contractor and other construction trades typical for such projects as noted below. The qualified contractors will be bidding on the HVAC replacement project at the City's Data Center. Note that bonds do not need to be submitted with this prequalification package. Project Summary Project scope includes phased removal and demolition of six existing Chilled water + DX based CRAC units serving the Data Center and replacing them in a phased manner with chilled water based CRAC units. Work includes replacement of existing system with FOUR new chilled water based CRAC units, TWO 30-Ton chillers and associated pumps, piping and controls to distribute chilled water to the CRAC units. Since overall cooling functionality can not be interrupted in the Data Center that operates on a 24x7 basis, replacmement work is expected to occur in phases. Overall work is expected to include the following trades: a) HVAC /mechanical, b) Electrical, c) HVAC controls programing and automation including low voltage wiring, c) Structural, and d) General contracting associated with wall penetraons, paint and patch. The contractor with (C-20 license) is the prime contractor for this project, and this contractor will need to subcontract with the appropriate contractors as needed for a turnkey project.
