The Winston-Salem Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has the authority to designate a portion of Surface Transportation Block Grant - Direct Attributable (STBG-DA) funds allocated from the federal government, and has designated additional funding for previously approved and funded sidewalk projects, which include: Silas Creek Parkway ($4,750,000), Robinhood Road ($410,000), Griffith Road ($2,350,000), and Barbara Jane Avenue ($460,000). Federal funds will cover 80% of the project costs ($6,376,00) and the remaining 20% will be covered via local funds ($1,594,000). As of July 24, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Further information regarding a design firm has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2025-2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
