Renovation of a residential development in Marquette, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The County of Marquette, acting in its capacity asthe CDBG Grant Administrator, is seeking a Michigan Licensed Contractor for the rehabilitation of a single family residential home located at 2503 Werner St, Marquette, MI 49855. Projectspecifications consist of 1. Roof Replacement Remove all shingles, underlayment, and roofing accessories from entire house structure minus the west plane down to the roof deck. Inspect remaining roof deck for deterioration and or damage. Replace roof deck as necessary. Provide a sq ft unit cost for deck repair/replacement. Install ice and water shield, which shall extend from the lowest edges of all roof surfaces to a point not less than 24-inches inside the exterior wall line of the building. Install 30-lb felt over remaining roof deck. Install all new drip edge on all edges. Install all new accessories and flashings to ensure a water shed installation. Install fiberglass, asphalt, 3-tab or architectural, class A shingles with a prorated 25/30-year warranty. Standard color and style to be selected by owner. Install appropriate roof venting. All work shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of the 2015 Michigan Residential Code and the shingle manufacturers written specifications and details. Provide from the shingle manufacturer a standard roof system warranty upon completion. Leave west plane of roof for separate cold roof installation. Leave soffit and fascia, and do not disturb any paint. The CDBG Housing Improving Local Livability (CHILL) Program Homeowner Improvement Project (HIP) is grant funding from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). CHILL HIP follows the Federal rules that govern the use of CDBG awards to meet a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) National Objective, MSHDA's policies regulating the application process, and the on-going operation of its CDBG-funded programs. August 5, 2025 General Contractor selected and contract executed August 9, 2025 Tentative Work Start Date October 15, 2025 Work End Date October 31, 2025 Final inspection and final invoice due Experience, Licensing, Insurance Requirements, Structure and Personnel 1. Proof of Contracting Trade(s) License(s) for the State of Michigan. 2. Proof of Insurance requirements as listed in Section IV. 3. A history of the company's experience providing general contracting services to municipalities, other government entities and private developers. 4. A description of the company's organizational structure. 5. Samples of projects that the company has completed in the area of General Contracting Services. Please include the client, the name of the contact person who is able to provide a reference, a description of the nature of the work, and the size and complexity of the project. 6. Any other information that you believe would make the company's work beneficial to the scope of work contained in this RFP. Contractor will furnish evidence of Comprehensive Public Liability Insurance ($300,000) protecting the Homeowner in the event of bodily injury, including death, and ($100,000) in the event of property damage arising out of the work performed by the contractor or a subcontractor. Marquette County reserves the right to reject any proposal submitted if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the project. Marquette County assumes no obligation, no responsibility, and no liability for costs incurred by the responding firms prior to the issuance of a contract.
