Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Marquette, Michigan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The Marquette County Land Bank Authority will hire one contractor to perform selective demolition at the site at 401 W Washington St. Lead and/or asbestos surveys are being completed on the property by the owner and any asbestos remediation will be performed at the Owner's expense prior to demolition. The contractor will be responsible for all required local, state and federal permits, associated fees, and notifications to regulating agencies. The Authority may identify components of the building that will be salvaged by the Authority, and at no cost to the Authority. Residential structure; parcel 52-52-002-201-30, 1401 W Washington St, Marquette, MI 49855 (Exhibit. A) The work shall be completed by Oct 15, 2025. It is expected that bids will be awarded on Sep 15, 2025 with asbestos clearance and notice to proceed provided at that time. Unless an extension is granted by the Authority in writing, any work not complete will result in a late fee of $150 per day until project is complete. 1. Work must comply with all applicable Federal, State and local codes. The contractor shall be responsible for acquiring and paying for all permits required for this project and included in bid. 2. Contractor must be able to meet the County of Marquette's insurance standards as set forth in the attached description of required coverage (Exhibit E). Please provide proof of insurance with your bid. 3. A lump sum payment will be made within 30 days of project completion and acceptance and approval by the Authority. Proof of payment to the Marquette County Landfill for fees related to the project is required. Copies of load tickets can be sent electronically to above contact. Scope of Work: 1. Demolition and disposal of select materials including but not limited to: block walls on main level on Washington St, flooring on main level, ceilings, roof structure, and all debris from the building. Not included is any foundation system including crawlspace walls, basement walls, footings, piers and basement floors. Those are to be preserved for future use. There may be other hazardous materials (beyond ACM) present at the site. All debris must be hauled to the Marquette County Landfill, no exceptions. Items that are able to be recycled is acceptable. Please refer to Exhibit E for State Land Bank Authority grant requirements, since this is a grant funded demolition. Prevailing wage is not required for this demolition work. Please refer to the Asbestos Survey results which will be provided by the Owner at a later date as Exhibit C. You must acknowledge the document and sign that you have reviewed prior to bid award date. Please include in your bid the cost to properly dispose of any other hazardous materials. 2. Hauling all material to an appropriate landfill. Copies of landfill tickets are required. Bid is to include landfill fees. 3. All utilities shall be terminated and/or plugged in accordance with the applicable rules, codes and standard practices. Any permits or fees for utility termination shall be paid for by the Owner. Utility disconnections must be in writing and provided to the Authority prior to work commencing. 4. If additional debris is present on the site, removal of additional debris should be included in the bid estimate. 5. Asphalt on vacant lot on street level shall not be removed from the site. 6. It is expected that water will be used to control dust emissions throughout the demolition process. An inspection and photo of the completed selective demo will be required by Marquette County Land Bank. 7. This project is being funded with funds per State Land Bank Authority Grant Agreement # SLBA-00331. Certain documentation may be required per the grant requirements attached as Exhibit E. 8. Fencing, weather protection post-demo, and temporary fencing are the responsibility of the owner. If temporary flooring is needed please include in price. The Authority will award the work to the firm having the combination of price, qualifications, experience, and scheduling most advantageous to the Land Bank Authority. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive irregularities and/or informalities in any proposal.
