LewisCounty is currently seeking a proposal for the Demolition and Removal of a condemned residential structure located at 1057 Ammon Road in West Leyden. Any questions related to this RFP should be directed to Brian Hanno, Purchasing Director, by email at brianhanno@lewiscounty.ny.gov The intent of the County is to award this contract on September 2, 2025, and have the demolition and removal of the structure completed within 90 days. o An asbestos survey could not be completed on the structure due to the existing poor condition. It shall be presumed that all building materials within the structure are asbestos contaminated. o This is a Prevailing Wage Rate Project. o Contact Dig Safely (UFPO) to mark all underground utilities. o Notify NYS Department of Labor and US EPA of demolition. o The contractor will apply for a NYS DOL Notification Fee Waiver for the project. The County will work with the awarded contractor in providing the information for the application and waiver. o Proposal should include all costs of labor and equipment to demolish and legally dispose of all materials of the structure as friable asbestos to the DANC/Solid Waste Management Facility, in Rodman, NY. Note: LEWIS COUNTY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DISPOSAL TIPPING FEES AT THE RODMAN LANDFILL SITE MANAGED BY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE NORTH COUNTY (DANC). Therefore, the Biddershallnotinclude disposal fees in theirbid. o Power and Water required for the project is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to secure. Use of a Village Fire hydrant can be used with permission from the Village DPW. o Remove all material including the basement foundation to allow site to be 100% shovel-ready for future development. o Any water or sewer connections can be cut off and capped out sided the foundation wall. o Backfill with clean fill. o Topsoil 6 inches on top of clean fill, seed, and cover with hay to prevent erosion to the site. o Provide a timeline to complete the project. o The County will not hold a formal walkthrough for the project. Contractors are welcome to visit the site at their convenience in preparation for submitting their proposal. Lewis County reserves the right to forego any formalities and reject any or all proposals.
