Demolition and site work for an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

This project consists of the demolition and abatement of existing structures located at the current Chancellor's Complex (Phase 01). The work includes hazardous materials abatement in accordance with applicable regulations, structural demolition, and removal of all debris to prepare the site for future development. The design scope included in this package is limited to interim grading, erosion control measures, drainage solutions, and application of mulch to stabilize and protect the site until the future construction phase commences. These interim improvements are intended to minimize environmental impacts and maintain compliance with stormwater and dust control regulations. Note on UC 965 Site is considered Future Phase Work, and while the UC 965 building is part of the overall Chancellor Site Restoration scope, its associated demolition and abatement work is anticipated to occur during Phase 2, which is not part of this current bid package. This package includes only preliminary design elements for the 965 area such as grading, erosion control, and temporary site stabilization. Demolition of the UC 965 structure will be addressed under a future contract and separate procurement process. The project will comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices, and UC San Diego design guidelines. The Sustainable Practices Policy establishes goals for green building, clean energy, transportation, climate protection, facilities operations, zero waste, procurement, food service, and water systems. The University has bid and awarded a CM at Risk Contract to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. (hereafter "CM/Contractor"). CM/Contractor is responsible for bidding and awarding all subsequent subcontractor packages, including this package. The successful Subcontractor Bidder shall sign a Subcontract Agreement directly with CM/Contractor, and shall be bound by all the terms of the contract between University and CM/Contractor. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the contract between the University and the CM/Contractor, and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
