The DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners are seeking formal Proposals from qualified firms and/or individuals to remove and replace existing 12" force main, plugging of existing road crossings and the construction of 4,494 linear fee of 18-inch HDPE force main within the FDOT right-of-way of State Road 31as indicated within the context of this Bid. SR-31 Force Main Replacement Project The DeSoto County Utility Department (DCU) wishes to receive formal bids from Contractors for the SR-31 Force Main Replacement Project. SCOPE Work includes the removal of existing 12" force main, plugging of existing road crossings and the construction of 4,494 linear fee of 18-inch HDPE force main within the FDOT right-of-way of State Road 31 south of SE County Road 760A, and associated, fittings, valves, and appurtenances and sod restoration. The bid also includes alternates intended to show the cost difference between 16-inch and 18-inch diameter pipe and PVC and HDPE material. BASIS OF AWARD The basis of award is the lowest responsible/responsive bidder for all work included in the Base Bid. GOVERNING SPECIFICATIONS All work shall be in conformance with the following: o Construction Plan Set o Project Specific Technical Specifications o DCU Utilities Standards Handbook o FDOT FY 25-26 Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction and applicable Interim Revisions (IRs) o FDOT FY 25-26 Standard Specification for Road and Bridge Construction. COUNTY NOTIFICATION The Contractor is required to notify the County at least 2 County business days prior to all workdays. All work to be performed between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday and on non-County holidays. TIME FRAME: All work shall be complete within eighty (80) calendar days of the notice to proceed. The total contract will be for ninety (90) calendar days which will allow time for County inspection and correction of deficiencies if noted.
