The work generally includes the installation of acrylic sports courts onto existing asphalt pavement. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, in the form of a Certified Check or Corporate Surety Bid Bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Proposal made in the favour of the Kilbuck Township. Only bids from Contractors who have obtained documents directly from NIRA Consulting Engineers, Inc. will be accepted at bid opening. A Performance Bond, Labour and Material Payment Bond, and Maintenance Bond in the amounts specified within the Contract Documents will be required of the successful Bidder. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act 442. The Prevailing Wage Scale is included in these Specifications. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the Provisions of the Public Works Employment Verification Act (PWEVA). Adherence to Instructions to Bidders is required. SUMMARY OF WORK A. This project is entitled "Avon Park Sport Courts Resurfacing". B. Without intending to limit and/or restrict the volume of work required by this Contract, the work generally consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, and transportation, and perform all operations necessary to complete the work as specified and/or indicated on the Construction Drawings and as summarized below: 1. Preliminary Investigation. Supplement existing preliminary investigation of the site as required to provide a sound basis for the planned improvements, including the sport courts, all other appurtenances, and all other work described by the Contract Documents. These investigations may include, but not be limited to, site investigations and others as the Contractor requires to complete the Contract work. 2. Procurement and Construction. The following project features are to be included in the project and are to be furnished, installed or constructed (as appropriate) in accordance with the Contract Documents. a. Site Facilities and Services 1) Provide temporary services and facilities, as required for construction of this Contract. 2) Thoroughly clean the existing asphalt surfaces. 3) Fill cracks in existing asphalt. 4) Repair/fill low spots and depressions 5) Apply adhesion promoter to existing asphalt surface. Apply acrylic resurfacer coats. 7) Apply a minimum of three (3) finish coats of colored acrylic with sand. 8) Tape off lines to be painted. 9) Apply clear drying emulsion primer. 10) Apply textured white sports court line paint. 11) Apply protective acrylic top coating No Bid or any part thereof shall be withdrawn by Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the Bid Opening. The right is reserved by the Owner to reject any or all Bids or parts of bids and to waive technical defects in any Bid.
