Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Springfield, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Work shall consist of, but not limited to, the removal of an existing 5-foot-wide walkway and installation of an 8-foot-wide ADA compliant walkway. The work also includes refurbishing an existing tennis court into a striped parking lot with crack filling and seal coat, installing a 6-inch-thick PCC driveway, concrete curb, seeding, and other miscellaneous items. Any further questions about shall be submitted to the Engineer no later than, August 7, 2023. Responses will be distributed to each plan holder no later than the end ofthe workday on Friday, August 8, 2024. The Board of Trustees of the Springfield Park District reserves the right to waive any irregularities in the bids, reject any or all bids and to accept any bid deemed most advantageous to the district An accompanying bid bond shall be equal to 10% of the total bid price. This may be in the form of a Certified Check, Bank Draft, or Bid Bond payable to the Owner. Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor to all laborers, workmen, mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full amount of the bid accepted. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities and minor irregularities in bidding, and to award a Contract for any part of the Work or the Project as a whole. The Springfield Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Minority business firms are encouraged to submit a bid for this project All questions or disagreements between the Owner and the Contractor relating to the interpretation of the drawings and specifications, or kind and quality of material and workmanship required thereby shall be referred to the Engineer or the Springfield Park District. Engineer or Springfield Park District decisions shall be final, conclusive, and without equal.
