Reference Number 00004650854 The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) is seeking a third-party Vendor to develop a Code and Construction Guide for Farm Buildings and a Half-day Training Material to increase the building sector’s capacity to help implement the new edition of the Building Code. The Guide is intended to be similar to other code and construction guides published by the Ministry. Its purpose is to provide guidance to building officials, designers and builders to assist the design and construction of Farm Buildings. The Guide compiles all Building Code requirements related to Farm Buildings. It will contain an explanation of the requirements, compliance examples reflecting current practices and available materials. It will also include illustrations, a Checklist for Farm Buildings, and Appendices. The training material is required to be developed for the education of building officials and designers. Its audience will be building officials and farm building designers, and other professionals. It should be in a format to permit the use of in-person and on-line training. It is intended that these professionals are informed about the key design requirements for Farm Buildings, and that they are confident in using and interpreting the Farm Building related definitions and requirements. Scope of Work The Ministry of Municipal Affairs seeks a third-party Vendor to develop a Code and Construction Guide for Farm Buildings and a Half-day Training Material The Ministry has identified 10 key deliverables for this project: 1. Workplan: Detailed workplan including milestones, resources, project staff, communication, and quality control plans. 2. Report on Compiling Code Requirements: Scan, identify and compile all Building Code requirements 3. Report Explaining Code Requirements: Prepare a report explaining key Building Code requirements. 4. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish a group of stakeholders that have relevant experience. 5. Report on Current Practices and Compliance Methods: Jurisdictional scan and determine various practices and designs. 6. Report on Illustrated Compliance Options: Illustrate compliance options for different design and construction scenarios. 7. Draft Code and Construction Guide: Development of the draft Guide 8. Draft Half-day Training Material: Development of draft Training Material (including student workbook, facilitator’s version of the workbook, and presentation slides) 9. Final Code and Construction Guide and Final Half-day Training Material: Development of Final Guide and final Half-day Training Material 10. Close-Out/Knowledge Transfer: Conduct a close-out meeting.
