Rehabilitate Drainage Structures Plan Deposit 100.00 IDNR FILE NUMBER: 4-22-058 The scope of work provides for restoration of approximately five (5ct.) water control structures and associated drainage culverts installed within Levee A and Levee C at the existing Carlyle Lake Westside Management Area/Unit (CLWMA). The restoration activities will include open-cut partial culvert replacement, culvert slip-lining restoration, installation of UA-purchased water control sluice gate(s), dewatering, temporary cofferdams, reconstruction of levee section(s), embankment armoring, aggregate road construction, seeding, and all site protection and restoration activities required for Work within a state-managed wildlife habitat area. The Work for the Base Bid generally consists of the following: o Mobilization and demobilization, including Temporary Facilities and Controls. o Provide temporary erosion and sedimentation control in accordance with the IDOT Standard Specifications and the Illinois Urban Manual. o Construct permanent and temporary construction access roads and staging areas as shown and required. o Clearing and grubbing in the areas designated for tree removal. o Provide and install temporary cofferdam(s) to dewater the area for construction. Remove any consolidated sediments or debris from inside the box structures to facilitate the retrofit activities. Remove cofferdams after construction. o Verify dimensions of all components prior to removal. o Clean and inspect culverts at structures C4 and C5 o Open-cut replacement of riverside portion of existing culvert at o Slip-lining of existing culverts or open-cut removal and replacement of existing culverts at structures C4 and C5 with HDPE storm utility pipe. o Provide, install, compact and grade suitable earthen material for reconstruction of embankment and access roadway. o Armor the reconstructed embankment with riprap and provide an aggregate surface for the disturbed portion of the access road. o Dispose of excess spoil off site and comply with the Erosion and Sedimentation Control in accordance with the IDOT Standard Specifications and the Illinois Urban Manual. o Seed all exposed earthen surfaces with a temporary cover mixture of perennial rye and oats. 2. The Work for Alternate G-1 generally consists of the following: o Clean and inspect culverts at structures A1 and A2 on the riverside of the levee. o Slip-lining of existing culverts or open-cut removal and replacements of existing culverts at structures A1 and A2 on the riverside of the levee with HDPE storm utility pipe. o Provide, install, compact and grade suitable earthen material for reconstruction of embankment and access roadway. o Armor the reconstructed embankment with riprap and provide an aggregate surface for the disturbed portion of the access road. o Seed all exposed earthen surfaces with a temporary cover mixture of perennial rye and oats. o Remove and replace existing gate gearboxes, stems, and pedestals, if necessary, to make compatible with the facility's existing portable gate operator. 3. The Work for Alternate G-2 generally consists of the following: o Clean and inspect culverts at structures A1 and A2 on the impoundment side of the levee. o Slip-lining of existing culverts or open-cut removal and replacements of existing culverts at structures A1 and A2 on the impoundment side of the levee with HDPE storm utility pipe. o Provide, install, compact and grade suitable earthen material for reconstruction of embankment. o Armor the reconstructed embankment with riprap. o Seed all exposed earthen surfaces with a temporary cover mixture of CBB-01 11 00 JANUARY 2025 CDB-102-704-051 01 11 00 - 3 perennial rye and oats. 4. The Work for Alternate G-3 generally consists of the following: o Clean and inspect culverts at structure A3. o Slip-lining of existing culverts or open-cut removal and replacement of existing culverts at structure A3 on the riverside and impoundment side of the levee with HDPE storm utility pipe. o Provide, install, compact and grade suitable earthen material for reconstruction of embankment and access roadway. o Armor the reconstructed embankment with riprap and provide an aggregate surface for the disturbed portion of the access road. o Seed all exposed earthen surfaces with a temporary cover mixture of perennial rye and oats. o Remove and replace existing gate gearboxes, stems, and pedestals, if necessary, to make compatible with the facility's existing portable gate operator.
