TARTA is seeking proposals from qualified Architectural and Engineering firms (A&E) to provide professional design and consulting services for the upgrade and renovation of an existing maintenance shop. The goal of this project is to enhance operational efficiency, integrate infrastructure for electric vehicle (EV) usage, and align with sustainability best practices. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project will include Evaluating existing facility conditions and identifying efficiency improvement opportunities Evaluating existing equipment, lifts, storage areas and other maintenance infrastructure for needed enhancements and upgrades Designing upgrades for enhanced workflow, energy conservation, and sustainability, Integrating electrical infrastructure to support EV maintenance and charging , Assessing HVAC, insulation, and lighting enhancements for energy efficiency. Assessing the aesthetic appearance of the maintenance shop for needed upgrades and improvements including floors and walls Ensuring access control of the maintenance shop with clear delineation from non-maintenance employees , Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for EV infrastructure and sustainable building practices. The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is a public transit authority that operates public transportation bus and paratransit services across metropolitan Toledo, Ohio and Lucas County, Ohio. TARTA's mission-critical employees, such as operators, are considered first responders because transit is designated as an essential service in times of crisis. TARTA's service area includes all 596 square miles of Lucas County which includes the City of Toledo and into the City of Rossford in Wood County.
