Any questions regarding specifics ofthis project should be addressed to Hank Bradish at (724) 837-5271. ALL MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATE AND ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE ACCURACY. #1 Landscape Islands A. A landscape island will be constructed in the middle ofthe parking lot. The entire landscape island shall be approximately 300' in length. Three landscape islands shall have an oval shape and will have a length of 46' and width of20'. Each one ofthese landscape islands will have 2 trees planted in them following the planting schedule on plan drawing page #10. B. The three landscape islands will be connected by a 10' wide landscape island that will be approximately 300' in length. Six shrubs will be planted in this connecting landscape island following the planting schedule on plan drawing #10. Exact location of the plantings will be directed by WCD. C. All landscape islands should be excavated down by 2.5'. The entire landscape island will then be filled with 2.5' of topsoil, leaving a 2" ponding depth. D. The entire landscape island will have a 4" SDR35 perforated underdrain. The underdrain will have a 4" of 2B stone below it, and 2" of 2B stone surrounding the sides and top ofthe pipe. Three riser overflows will be located in the larger landscape islands. Each ofthese overflows must have a metal trash rack installed on them. Contractor must follow the details for the landscape islands and underdrain installation on plan drawing #11. E. The entire landscape island will be bordered by asphalt wedge curbs. Curb cuts are also proposed in specific locations to allow for proper drainage. See plan sheet #8. An ADD/ALT for the asphalt wedge curb is installing concrete curbs. F. Two permeable walkways are proposed within the landscape islands. Both walkways will be approximately 10' in width and 42' in length. Contractor shall use Unilock EcoOptilok pavers or an equivalent after consulting with WCD. G. There is existing electric and stormwater utilities that intersect the proposed landscape island. The contractor shall take due diligence to avoid these utilities. H. The landscape island will be stabilized following the seeding specification on Plan Drawing #10 G. PROJECT SPECIFICS Mt. Pleasant YMCA Basin/Stormwater Retrofits &2 #3 Stormwater Channel Regrading A. Approximately 720 Feet of channel will be regraded. Accumulated sediment and garbage shall be removed and the channel shall have the dimensions restored to match that ofthe "Existing Swale Grading Detail" shown on plan drawing #11. B. It is essential that the channel have at least a 2% slope for the entirety ofits length. C. Approximately 4,000 square feet ofthe channel will need to be stabilized following the "Permanent Stabilization Detail" on plan drawing #10 D. Where the channel starts, an 18" pipe replacement under Bessemer Road is proposed and will be completed by East Huntingdon Township, #2 Ex, Stormwater Basin Retrofits A. 3' ofthe two existing 18" discharge pipes will be cut and removed. Vegetation around the two discharge pipes will also be removed. Lastly, R5 Riprap rockwill be placed below the discharge pipes to act as an energy dissipater. The riprap apron should be embedded into the ground below the pipes and follow the dimensions shown on plan drawing #7. B. From the riprap apron to the outlet control structure ofthe existing basin is a proposed swale. The swale must be very gradual and at least have a 2% slope for its entirety. The swale will have a parabolic shape and at most, 6" deep. It is crucial to maintain this dimension due to an existing stormwater line crossing the proposed swale. C. Vegetation around the existing"stormwater basin outlet structure will be removed. D. The existing outletstructurewill be retrofitted. Retrofits include installing a new raised inlet grate/ trash rack. Contractor shall follow the specification on plan drawing #12 or use an equivalent. A steel plate is also proposed to be placed over half ofthe existing orifice holes and bolted into the structure. See "Outlet Structure Detail" on plan drawing #12. A trash rack will also be placed over the existing orifice holes that are not blocked by the steel plate. Lastly, the outlet pipe leaving the structure will be grouted from both the inside and outside and partially backfilled. E.
