Renovation of a military facility in Watervliet, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
REPLACE STEAM AND CONDENSATE LINE B44-110 To cover the cost of labor, material and equipment to REPLACE UNDERGROUND STEAM AND CONDENSATE LINES BETWEEN BUILDINGS 44 AND 110 IAW SOW Project #WO25PW043. Wage Determination General Decision Number: NY2 current revision applies and is incorporated.100% Payment or Performance Bonds are required. Total Magnitude of the entire Project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Contracting Officer Representative is Dan Clough. Notice of Total Small Business Set-Aside SUMMARY OF WORK 1.1.1 Project Description a. This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the effort required for the replacement of underground steam and condensate lines between Buildings 44 and 110. The project includes the removal and replacement of steam supply lines and steam condensate return lines buried underground. Existing lines run in proximity to other underground utilities, as well as running under a roadway, concrete sidewalk, and concrete curbing. b. This project also includes an option for replacement of the existing 2- 1/2 -inch underground compressed air line between Buildings 44 and 110. 1.1.2 Existing Conditions a. The underground heating distribution system (UHDS) between Building 44 and 110 consists of an 8-inch diameter steam line and a 4-inch diameter condensate line. Underground utilities are known to exist near, under or over the steam and condensate lines at various locations. Utilities include but are not limited to electrical lines, telephone conduits, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water, and compressed air. The location of these utilities will be marked as accurately as possible by the Government before excavation. Photos can be found at the end of this scope showing existing markings. However, the Contractor shall take great care during excavation so as not to damage the known and any unknown utilities. The approximate span of the underground piping is 360 lineal feet for the 8-inch and 360 lineal feet for the 4-inch lines. The depth of the steam and condensate lines appear to be 4-feet below grade at Bldg. 110 and 9-feet below grade at Bldg. 44. b. This project will incorporate the removal of turf, sidewalk, curbing, and pavement. It is imperative to return all disturbed areas back to original or better conditions (prior to construction to include restriping parking stalls and roadways). c. Asbestos insulation is assumed to have been removed during replacement of these underground lines back in 1986 according to the as-builts. Therefore, this portion of the work will not entail an abatement in addition to replacement. However, a minor asbestos abatement will be required for removal of approximately 10 lineal feet of pipe insulation, above the drop ceiling in the basement hallway (5' on the 8" H.P.S and 5' on the 2" L.P.C), so the pipes can be capped.
