Site work and paving for a road / highway in Shiocton, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of October 08, 2025. Project was awarded to MCC, Inc. The first part of the project was awarded $118,278.79 and they started on the 2nd week of September and ended on the 4th week. 2nd part of the project was awarded in the amount of $93,644.50 and it will start Spring of 2026. Total awarded amount is $157,923.45 2025/2026 Asphalt Pulverizing, Grading, and Paving Thompson Rd. Roads That Will Be Pulverized, Re-graded and Paved Include: Thompson Rd From Highway a South to the Town Line (5170 Ft) Include Unit Costs for Pulverizing, Grading, Paving, Shouldering and Over Excavating and Backfill if Poor Soils Are Located Base Improvement, Pulverizing, & Regrading: A 4-inch Lift of 1.25base Aggregate Dense Shall Be Placed Over the Full Width of the Existing Roadbed Prior to Pulverizing on the South Half of Thompson Rd. This Would Be From the Base of Thompson Hill and South (2600 if) Perform All Pulverizing Operations in Accordance With Section 325 of the Wisdot Standard Specifications. The Existing Asphalt Pavement Shall Be Pulverized to a Minimum Depth of Two Inches (2") Below the Limits of Existing Asphaltic Pavement or to a Depth Required to Ensure a Uniform Base Throughout the Roadway Cross Section and to a Width of at Least 18" Wider Than the Existing Pavement. The Contractor Shall Stake Offsets Prior to Pulverizing, if Necessary, to Preserve the Existing Line of the Roadway. Gps or Digital Methods Are Also Acceptable. Upon Completion of Pulverizing, the Roadway Shall Be Shaped, Rough Graded, and Thoroughly Compacted in Accordance With the Standard Specifications. It May Be Necessary to Allow the Reclaimed Base to "Rest" After the Initial Pulverizing and Relay Operation for a Period in Order to Identify Any Areas of Weak or Unstable Base. Areas of Base Correction or Reinforcement Will Be at the Discretion of the Owner or Engineer. Fine Grading Shall Include Shaping and Compaction of the Existing Reclaimed Base and Shoulder Areas. Shape and Compact the Pulverized Base and Shoulder Areas to a Minimum 2.0% (.020) Crown. Asphalt Paving & Shouldering: The Roadway Shall Be Saw Cut or Vertically Milled at the Project Limits in Order to Create a Straight and True Joint. Match Existing Asphalt Driveways by Sawing or Milling Back a Minimum of 2-ft (24") or as Directed by Owner or Engineer. Finished Asphalt Pavement Shall Consist of a Minimum of 1 1/2 " Upper Layer of 4 Lt (12.5 Mm) Pavement Over 1 1/2 " Lower Layer 3 Lt (19.0 Mm) Pavement (3" Total Thickness, Minimum). Asphalt Road Width Will Be 22 Ft Wide. Lower Layer Shall Be Swept, if Necessary, and Dry With Tack Coat Applied Prior to Placement of Upper Layer. Asphaltic Mixture and Density Testing is Not Required for This Project; However, Associated Quality Control Documentation Shall Be Provided to the Owner Upon Request. Provide a New Gravel Shoulder of at Least Two Feet (24") Wide at the End of Each Phase of Paving and Compacted According to Standard Specifications. In Total the Shoulder Will Be 3" Thick. Utilize %-inch Dense Graded Base for Shouldering. Match Existing Gravel Driveways by Blending Back With Salvaged Roadway Material or Shoulder Gravel to Make a Reasonable Transition. This Project Will Be Done in Two Phases. The Pulverizing and First Course of Asphalt Will Be Done in 2025 and the Finished Asphalt Will Be Done in 2026. Phase 1 Will Need to Be Done by October 1, 2025 Questions Regarding Bids Should Be Addressed to Doug Pahlow 920-740-9647 or Emailed to Chairman@tn.bovina.wi.gov Proposal Shall Be Accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the Amount of Not Less Than Five Percent (5%) of the Total Bid Amount, Payable to the Town of Bovina as Guarantee That the Bidder, if the Bid is Accepted, Will Execute and File the Contract. The Certified Check is Returnable to the Bidder Immediately After the Signing of the Contract. A Performance Bond in the Amount of 100 Percent (100%) of the Total Bid Price, a Certificate of Insurance, Together With an Executed Contract, Will Be Required of the Successful Low Bidder. The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids.
