The National Park Service (NPS) is a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) that has been entrusted with the care of our national parks since 1916. The NPS preserves unimpaired natural and cultural resources, and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The NPS cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world. The NPS - National Capital Area (NCA) supports natural wonders to man-made marvels in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. The NCA parks include: Antietam National Battlefield, Catoctin Mountain Park, Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park, George Washington Memorial Parkway, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Manassas National Battlefield Park, Monocacy National Battlefield, National Capital Parks - East, National Mall and Memorial Parks, Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, President's Park, Prince William Forest Park, Rock Creek Park, and Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. The NPS - National Capital Area (NCA) - Prince William Forest Park (PRWI), has a requirement for a single contractor with a minimum of five (5) years of industry experience that is capable of removing and disposing of three (3) existing asphalt shingle roofs and components, such as shingles, felt paper, roof boots, flashing. Install a new Enviroshake composite shakes and Envirosheild@BSA underlayment, which includes repairing all damaged existing sheathing up to between 10% and 25% and then overlaying entire roofs with 1/2 " CDX plywood to ensure a consistent nailing surface removing any gaps. All copper valleys, drip edge flashing, step flashing, chimney flashing, and roof boots will be replaced. PRWI will provide the contractor with 24" X 16OZ H02 copper coil that shall be used and shaped to fit on site to include valleys, drip edge flashing, step flashing, and chimney flashing. The contractor shall furnish all: supervision, labor, materials, tools, supplies, transportation, license, certificates, permits, personal protection equipment, signs, barriers, clean-up, and equipment incidental to, and necessary to, complete all work described herein at PRWI. The contractor shall be responsible for discussing the roof sizes and developing roof layouts with Enviroshake(R) considering the NPS requires the shakes to be installed staggered with a 7" to 8" reveal to mimic cedar shakes, this layout changes the quantity of shakes. All quantities and measurements in this SOW are provided as information only for estimation preparation. It is the contractor's responsibility to field verify all quantities and measurements provided by the Government and to discuss any discrepancies with the COR prior to commencing work. It is strongly recommended that contractor's visit the site to inspect and see for themselves the complexities surrounding this requirement. Failure of the contractor to verify all estimated quantities provided by the Government and to observe the complexities associated with the job and the site, will not relieve the contractor from performing to the contracted statement of work nor warrant any change orders that could have been identified during the site visit. The Delivery Date is 160 days after Notice to Proceed
