The work includes providing repairs and upgrades to the existing fender system in Berth 21 of Pier 2 at NAVSTA Newport, RI. The work items included in this project include but are not necessarily limited to removal of the existing pneumatic fenders, chains, connection hardware, and ropes to be returned to NAVSTA Newport possession. The work also includes installation of new pneumatic fenders, chains, connection hardware, and pad eyes. Installation of new "D" shaped fenders on the existing timber chocks and wales and incidental related work outlined on the contract drawings. Location :- The work is located at NAVSTA Newport, Middletown, Rhode Island. The project location on NAVSTA Newport is Pier 2. Pier 2 is located in on Environmental Restoration Program Site 19, Operable Unit 5. Site conditions are described in the Administrative Record found at Online. In addition to FAR 52.236-9 Protection of Existing Vegetation, Structures, Equipment, Utilities, and Improvements: a. Remove or alter existing work in such a manner as to prevent injury or damage to any portions of the existing work which remain. b. Repair or replace portions of existing work which have been altered during construction operations to match existing or adjoining work, as approved by the Contracting Officer.
