Construction and/or reconstruction of livestock range fences within the Malheur National Forest and Blue Mountain Ranger District in Grant County, Oregon. Work includes removal and disposal of damaged or unusable fencing, clearing of fence-line right-of-way, and construction of 3- or 4-strand barbed wire fences using Forest Service specifications. The contractor must provide all new fencing materials, transport them to the site, and dispose of leftover metal, flagging, debris, and garbage in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Untreated wood posts or trees used in existing fences may be left to degrade naturally. The contractor must also clean equipment of noxious weeds before entering Forest Service lands and prevent contamination of water sources with petroleum residues. The project is divided into five priority areas with specific mileage for removal, construction, and disposal tasks. The contractor must begin work within 14 calendar days of receiving the notice to proceed and complete all work by June 1, 2027.
