Renovation of a multi-residential development in Bruceville, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Should the bid be delivered any other way than "hand carried", it is the bidder's responsibility to make sure that his bid is at the Office of the Executive Director prior to the set bid time. Any bid that is mailed, federal expressed or sent by any other carrier must be in the OwnerTs possession at the bid time to be accepted. Any bid not in the possession of the Owner will be returned unopened. (Faxed bid will not be accepted.) It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract(s) to the lowest and/or best bidder provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Bidding Documents. However, the Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive any informality or error in bidding for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening. certified or cashier's check or a satisfactory bid bond executed with an acceptable surety company, payable to Knox County Housing Authority for not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price (to remain in effect for a period of sixty (60) days after receipt of bids) and delivered in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked BID showing the bidder's name, address and contract(s) bidding and addressed to the Office of the Executive Director, Knox County Housing Authority, 11 Powell Street, Bicknell, Indiana 47512. Should bidder withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after opening date without written consent of the Owner or fail to execute a satisfactory contract within thirty (30) days after notice of acceptance, the Owner may declare the bid deposit forfeited as liquidated damages. Contractor receiving award shall furnish at the directive of the Owner, an approved Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount at least equal to 100% of the contract amount. Bonds shall be furnished at time of award of contract. PROJECT LOCATION Apartment Unit #5773 thru #5799North Rod & Gun Club RoadBruceceville, Indiana Apartment Unit #6 thru #10100 E. Third StreetOaktown, Indiana BID REQUIREMENTS Contractor shall leave all existing lawns, landscaping, etc. in a condition equal to or better than before commencement of work (photographs may be taken prior to commencement of work). This work will be while the tenants are occupying the premises. Contractor shall take the utmost care and precaution for the protection and minimal inconvenience for each tenant. Contractor shall include in his bid the cost required to remove and install new aluminum gutter and downspouts to match existing at each site. Contractor shall also include cost to install gutter guard equal to Leaf Relief. Contractor shall clean as required and as often as required to keep the building "as neat as possible" during this installation process - nails / metal pieces / shingle pieces, etc. Contractor shall include in his bid a cost per square foot to replace any bad decking discovered as approved by the Owner and Architect. (See attached proposal form) Contractor shall also include in his bid a cost to remove, replace and install a new shingle roof or alternate metal roof for the storage building at the Oaktown project. Contractor shall be responsible to obtain any and all local permits required for this project. Contractor to provide all labor required to remove the existing roof shingles, felt, etc. down to the decking. Contractor shall replace with new felt paper, shingles, all accessories, etc. as required for a complete installation and a 20-year warranty as specified and/or shown on the drawings. All materials removed shall be properly disposed of in the landfill as per the State and Federal Guidelines Contractor shall insert and use the revised attached Page 4 and 5 of the proposal form to become a part of his proposal submitted. Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicitation, specifications, drawings, etc., must request it at least 7 days before the scheduled time for bld opening. Requests may be oral or written. Oral requests must be confirmed in writing. The only oral clarifications that will be provided will be those clearly related to solicitation procedures, i.e., not substantive technical information
